Full details and pricing for the top R-Line versions of the Volkswagen T-Roc and Tiguan Allspace SUVs have been revealed

You can now order the Volkswagen T-Roc and seven-seat Tiguan Allspace SUVs in range-topping and sporty R-Line trim, costing from £26,450 and £35,755 respectively.

Available across a selection of power outputs and gearboxes, the R-Line trim’s most obvious changes are a set of more aggressive bumpers for both models, but there’s also some extra equipment thrown in for good measure.

Volkswagen T-Roc R-Line

The T-Roc R-Line is fitted with 19-inch ‘Suzuka’ alloy wheels, shod with low-resistance tyres to avoid ruining fuel economy and CO2 emissions. There’s also firmer suspension, a body-coloured roof spoiler, extended black wheelarches, body-coloured side skirts and R-Line badges.

Inside, the roof lining is black instead of beige, dark grey inserts adorn the dashboard and doors, the front footwells are illuminated and there are LED front reading lights. The upholstery also gets a racier ‘Carbon Flag’ design and the steering wheel is swapped for a flat-bottomed ‘R-Line’ version, along with metal door sills, aluminium pedals and branded mats.

The upgraded trim is available with the 1.5-litre TSI petrol engine with 148bhp (and a manual or DSG automatic gearbox), the 187bhp 2.0-litre TSI petrol and the 2.0-litre TDI diesel with 148bhp and a manual gearbox. First deliveries are expected in June.

Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace R-Line

The R-Line version of the T-Roc"s big brother, the Tiguan Allspace, sits on 20-inch ‘Suzuka’ wheels and gets sports suspension as standard, plus the option of adjustable Dynamic Chassis Control. Exterior upgrades are similar to those of the T-Roc, with a body-coloured spoiler and front and rear bumpers with black inserts.

There’s also a black roof lining inside and a sports steering wheel with ‘R-Line’ badging, along with cloth and microfibre sports seats with the logo embossed into the backrest, stainless-steel pedals and ‘R-Line’ sill plates.

R-Line is diesel-only in the Tiguan Allspace, with a 2.0-litre TDI engine available in 148 and 187bhp guises, with front-wheel drive or 4MOTION four-wheel drive and manual or DSG automatic gearboxes. The 148bhp 4MOTION manual version costs £37,005, while the range-topping 187bhp 4MOTION DSG automatic just tips over the £40,000 mark by £45. The first examples of the Tiguan Allspace R-Line are expected to arrive May.
